Have you heard about the Great American Eclipse?
I learned about it last December but a lot of people have not.

There will be a solar eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017. Every state in the US will see at least a partial eclipse. The path of the total eclipse it goes across the US from Oregon to South Carolina. Much of the path is in Nebraska. State parks in the path are planning events. Grand Island expects every hotel room to be filled. If you want to see it you need to make plans soon.

That path does not hit Omaha but it does hit Lincoln and points south. I’m planning to see it at Homestead National Monument near Beatrice, Nebraska. Its about 85 miles from my house and will get more than 2 minutes of totality. Besides, I love their slogan – Get Mooned in Beatrice and Gage County
