There's just...something about seeing full bars back in my bedroom-I believe the one I use is an n600 series *does quick search* yep: http://www.staples.com/NETGEAR-N600-Dua ... uct_886778 my friend and I did the setup at Mom's and I took it back-didn't come with a router when I got the internet. They've really come down in price I see-I paid about $80 at Best Buy-they're around $50 now and it's a solid unit for what I use it for.

That is about what I paid for my wifi (netgear) unit. I went with the mid model at the time since I have a upstairs and that is where Miranda has her laptop set up. Think it was 69.00. (might as well say 70) The only other thing is the DVD player works off wifi for updates. Its worked fine, been a good piece of equipment.

That one does look like a real nice one, CD! I may, at some point, have to "upgrade" from the one I have here.... ***cast has already brought it up that I might need one a few times. *crosses fingers that if I do the new one won't be riddled with hair pulling glitches*

Sounds like you pretty much have a basic SOHO network set up there, Tami. No trouble with anything like having to connect any DVD player to wifi for updates though :tngraz: . Built in Airport on my desktop/host computer  ... does the job!

It's a good midline-I have 3 different named connections on it-two main (2.4G and 5G) and then my guest network. the 2.4 will be used by the XP, the 5 by the Win7 (normally use a spare cord to wire in from the router though) and the guest is for tablets and such

Miranda's DVD player is one model below mine, she has to download to usb and then transfer it, where all I have to do is press ok and enter my password. They are both samsung blue ray players.

Sounds like hers must be either something like the Samsung SE-506CB/RSBD 6X USB 2.0 or a little older model.
