Ah…

• The Classic Menu too
• Continuing 8's Touch (hopefully an improvement)
• One OS, One App (I know they were at least starting to use 8 on Surface)
• Multiple ("Power") Users feather (a lot like Apple's  )

and more to come…

CD, thanks for finding the link so fast  … it is helpful.

It's all about knowing how to search news sites and the correct words to use in said search-trust me...I've run so many that you learn pretty quickly the proper way to do it-sometimes a broader search is needed, but usually it's being as specific as possible. Like when I ran the search to fix my Win7-it was doing a redirect. Using the XP I searched for 'How do I get rid of <site name>?' (the site was out of Israel) and the most effective way was MalwareBytes-that, combined with ZoneAlarm...powerful combination but may not be for everyone. I found an interesting article in that search: http://www.dailydot.com/technology/micr ... ware-fail/ (they mention avast! in there-I got rid of that because it kept crashing my graphics driver when it would scan)

 Yep, agree with you there! Some times I try a few of those search approaches sometimes (when I have enough time) all of them ... the broad approach to the more narrower and more specific one.

OMG! I remember when the avast did that to your graphics too! A few months back (more than two or three of course). Yea, I was glad to see you got rid of that headache too  ......

'Rager was able to teamviewer in (I could still hit the windows key and do that mind you) and was somehow able to mess with the settings to get it back...talk about a P.I.T.A.!

10 sounds interesting! I will see what happens when it comes out and wait. I'm sticking with XP on this for now and 7 on my netbook which is ok. I rather like the desktop settings and effects on it. Miranda has 8.1 on her laptop and so far so good. She only had one download update glitch.

What I did do today was upgrade my satellite connection with Hughesnet. They finally made me a good upgrade offer to the gen 4. 12 mo's @ 10 off the regular and one year contract with more download per month & faster speed. So essentially I'll be saving 20 a mo. from what I'm paying now. Then it will go back to the normal price which will still give me a 10.00 mo. savings!

They had offered the upgrade a lot over the last year, but always a 2 year contract and normal price. Wasn't sure I wanted to get tied up since we want to put the house up for sale and move.

Back to the issue on hand, 10 sounds like it just may be time to upgrade this old computer!

Running Charter Spectrum at my apartment at 60Mbps-that and my cable runs about $100 a month. Being a hard-core gamer, connection speed can be the difference in a first-person shhoter (FPS) between killing your opponent and getting killed by them.

I can see why you would want higher connection speeds! I was just happy to get something other then dial up when they got sat for up here.

I am seeing a big difference here already. Sure glad the guy showed up this afternoon to get me swapped out! :evilyes:

It was one of those hair pulling things though. A WTH moment! :shifty:
