Re: Spring Weather
Hahaha! It's been much the same here, DM. Heat index brought to 97 yesterday. Today with heat index it's supposed to hit 100. Luckily it's been breezy.DM1 wrote:Rusty, you got that wrong. It's Northern Illinois that is closest to the sun. We've had 90 degrees and higher for last few days

Re: RIP: Adam "Batman" West
Grew up watching the Batman re-runs. Even had the full set of old-school "GI-Joe" type Batman action figures. The Bat Cave, boat, car, Joker's van, spotlight, all the villains. What a loss. He was Batman.
RIP Mr. West.

Re: RIP Greg Allman
I figured Greg Allman would give Kieth Richards a run for his money. They had both done so many drugs in their younger years, as Carlin said, they're well preserved.
Sad deal so far this year with all the great artists deaths. Still in shock about Chris Cornell.

R.I.P. Chris Cornell
In my opinion Chris Cornell's vocals are in the top 5 of hard rock elite. From Soundgarden to Audioslave and his solo work. The guy had one of the most soulful voices of hard rock and equally one of the very best song writers.

Re: Spring Weather
Rain.....and more rain...and more rain....Enough said. And here comes some more. Expecting anywhere to another 3 to 5 inches of rain. Your flooded "grassy area" looks much like everyone else's yard by us. Terrible. The ground is still so saturated from the constant rains last Thursday thru this pas...

Re: Spring Weather
We have an 18' diameter x 5' tall Intex pool with a saltwater chlorinater and sand filter combo. We put it up every Spring (usually the weekend before Memorial Day weekend) and take it down every fall around late September. So we have a sand ring in our backyard that I top dress and level with about...

Re: Spring Weather
We loved our Zoysia grass when the entire lawn was covered in it. It is a bit stressful on mowers, but it's so thick and like a carpet after it's mowed. The damn Bermuda Grass (a weed) that has crept in is a terror. It creeps and grows like a vine along the ground and sticks a spike through thick gr...

Re: Spring Weather
We have a battle on our hands here with the lawn. Years ago, before we moved into our home, a neighbor planted Zoysia grass in their yard. For the climate here it grew and spread quite well, surprisingly. Eventually it made its way into our yard and choked out all the bluegrass over the years. The n...
